Amazon Fire TV or simply Fire TV is a line of streaming devices for televisions developed by Amazon. Its first generation was launched in April 2014, becoming more popular by including the virtual assistant Alexa.

But Amazon Fire has a big drawback for those who want to experiment with their devices, and that is that it is restricted from installing applications outside of its store.

Downloader

The solution to the problem is quite simple, and involves installing a free application called Downloader.

Downloader allows Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Edition owners to easily download files from the Internet to their device. You can enter a URL that points directly to a file, or you can use the built-in web browser to download files from websites. The built-in browser supports the Fire TV remote and game controller, so there's no need for a mouse or keyboard. The browser can also be used for general web browsing with full screen mode, zoom and quick access to favorites/bookmarks. Favorites allow you to easily save and open frequently visited URLs. Once the files are downloaded, you can use the app's basic file manager to open them, install them if they are APK apps, or delete them.
